What is Wedding Companion?
Wedding Companion is a web app for couples. You create your own wedding website, collect RSVPs with menu choices and dietary needs, and share a photo gallery your guests can upload to. Everything runs in the browser, so neither you nor your guests need to install anything. The service is operated by Frankford's IT-Solutions GmbH in Innsbruck, Austria.
How much does Wedding Companion cost?
There are three plans: Basic for €500, Advanced for €1,200 and Professional for €2,000. Each plan includes 18 months of full access and is paid in advance. After that, your wedding page and your memories stay available to read. Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial.
How does the free trial work?
Every plan starts with a 7-day free trial that includes all features of the plan. You need a payment card to start, but nothing is charged during the trial. If you cancel before the 7 days are over, you pay nothing. Otherwise the plan you chose is charged when the trial ends.
What is the difference between the plans?
All plans include the wedding website, RSVPs with menu selection, unlimited guests and email notifications. Advanced adds the photo gallery for your guests, for up to 2,000 photos, and face search. Professional raises the gallery to 10,000 photos and adds an individual professional design.
Do guests need an account or an app?
No. Guests open your link in their browser. They reply to your RSVP and upload photos to the gallery without creating an account or installing an app.
How do guests share their photos?
With the Advanced or Professional plan, your page gets a photo gallery. Guests open it through your link or a QR code you can print, for example for the tables, and upload photos from their phone. Large photos are scaled down to at most 2,400 pixels on the longer side before the upload, so it stays quick on the venue's Wi-Fi. You can protect the gallery with a 4-digit PIN. Anyone in the gallery can select photos and download them as a ZIP file.
How does face search work, and is it optional?
Face search is off until you switch it on. Then guests who agree can upload a selfie and see the photos they appear in. The selfie is not stored. Face search uses Amazon Rekognition in the EU (Frankfurt) and is part of the Advanced and Professional plans.
Where is our data stored?
Wedding Companion runs on servers of netcup GmbH in a data centre in Nuremberg, Germany. Location and camera data are removed from uploaded photos before they are stored. The privacy policy has the details.
Which languages does Wedding Companion support?
The website and your wedding page are available in English, Italian and German. You choose the language of your wedding page.
What happens after the 18 months?
Your wedding page and your photos stay available in read-only mode, so your memories are not lost. While your plan is active, you can request a full export of your data at any time.
